Help for Home Owners - Scheme of Assistance
North Lanarkshire Council has a duty to assist disabled people whose homes no longer meet their needs. Support available through the Scheme of Assistance depends on an assessment of the individual's circumstances and eligibility under the Council's Priorities Framework.
To begin the process, individuals should contact their local Social Work office to request an assessment. Social Work Services will assess their needs and identify any adaptations required to help them live safely and independently at home.
Following the assessment, mandatory grant assistance may be available for adaptations needed to make the property suitable for the individual's needs, subject to eligibility criteria and the Priorities Framework.
