Care & Repair in Lanarkshire is an independent charity based in Lanark covering the whole of Lanarkshire with various projects to help clients to continue to live at home in a safe and secure environment.
Care and Repair Lanarkshire is a charity that helps older people and disabled homeowners live safely and independently in their own homes. They offer services such as fitting access ramps, grab rails, key safes and assist with falls prevention and small electrical repairs.
They also offer a 'Safe as Houses: Home Security' project, which provides home security measures and is available to anyone living in Lanarkshire over the age of 60 or of any age living with a disability who has experienced doorstop crime, house breaking or feels vulnerable. The service is also available to anyone who has experienced domestic abuse.
They may be able to provide other home security devices to keep clients safe:
• Personal audible alarms
• Window and door impact devices
• Door viewers
This service is free of charge and all equipment supplied is free. Clients can self-refer or refer via a partner agency such as Victim Support, Women’s Aid, ASSIST or any other support agency you are working with.
Another project they offer is the 'Safe as Houses: Home Safety' This project provides home safety measures and is available for anyone over the age of 60 or of any age living with a disability and resident in Lanarkshire. They can install some safety equipment free of charge or install equipment provided by you.
